Putting the Party in Wedding Party

  • Maid of Honor to Erika
Erika and Koya met during their sophomore year at Mansfield High School. Both played the saxophone in the marching band and had a similar group of friends, but they solidified their friendship in Ms. June’s physics class during their junior year. The two were paired together for a class project, and bonded over their love of musicals and Texas. Since then, Koya’s light, joy, and infectious laughter have graced Erika’s life, and you can still find them singing musical numbers and road tripping around Texas.

  • Matron of Honor to Aubre
After a fish camp namesake thought they would get along, Emily was introduced to Aubre as a potential roommate her junior year of college at Texas A&M (whoop!). Emily was from Canada and Aubre decided to become Emily’s personal tour guide of Aggieland. The two were immediately inseparable and have many memories of dance parties, Northgate, and stories they’ll likely never tell their parents or children. Despite the two living across the country from each other, Aubre knows Emily will always be her ride or die.

  • Matron of Honor to Erika
Erika and Becca met during their junior year at Mansfield High School. They first started hanging out while working on yet another project for Ms. June’s physics class (thanks, Ms. June!). Erika would go to Becca’s house and they would do anything but the project (including, but not limited to, making enchiladas, watching Pretty Little Liars, and dreaming about world travels). Over the years, Erika and Becca have traveled near and far to show up for each other, and Erika is forever grateful for Becca’s adventurous and generous spirit.

  • Matron of Honor to Aubre
Mama Sue has been in Aubre’s life literally since day one. She’s not just the matriarch of Aubre’s mother’s side the family, but Aubre considers her a best friend. From softball to dance and everything in between, most of Aubre’s memories involve her Mama Sue being there. When in doubt and Aubre’s in town, you can find them together at brunch, laughing over mimosas. Aubre is thankful that her Mama Sue is always willing and able to listen to her problems and help — whether it be a major life decision or her baked goods haven’t turned out quite right.

  • Best Man to Erika
Erika and Connor met when Connor tried out for the TCU debate team. Connor started as the freshman who showed up to tryouts with a broken foot, but soon became Erika’s debate partner (with a solid win record) and friend. Some of their best memories are the long van rides to and from debate competitions. Erika has always appreciated Connor’s honesty and loyalty, and the two can often be found talking about, thinking about, or attending TCU sporting events.

  • Best Man to Aubre
In 1997 Aubre’s life forever changed when her parents brought home her little brother, Aldan. Though Aubre cried because “she wanted him to stay her baby forever,” Aldan, with his infectious enthusiasm and boundless energy, grew up to be not just a brother, but one of Aubre's closest friends. He's the ultimate hype-man in her life, cheering her on through every adventure. Though they still may have to rock-paper-scissor for who gets the front seat on trips, there is no doubt they share an unbreakable bond.

Our Remembrance Attendants, Kate and Caroline, will be assisting with the honoring of our loved ones
during our ceremony. Though they cannot be with us physically, we acknowledge that they are here in
spirit sharing in our joy.

We remember Michele Domko Simonson, loving mom to Erika. Erika is thankful to have been blessed with Michele as her mom. We also remember Aubre's grandparents: Dub Merck, Sybil Fellers Dean Eubanks, and Rodney Dean as well as Linda Dean Horner, Aubre's Aunt and Godmother.
